Doris Taylor, PhD, Hon D. Sc. FAHA, FACC, FESC, FAIMBE is the co-founder and CEO of Organamet Bio, Inc., a company dedicated to saving lives by bioengineering personalized human hearts and other regenerative medicine therapies.

Biography

Dr. Taylor is a leading global expert in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. Her research has led to dozens of scientific breakthroughs in this field that have been featured in top-tier journals including Nature Medicine, Circulation Research, The Journal of Molecular Biology, and JAMA. Additionally, she holds multiple invention disclosures, patent applications, and patents. Her company Organamet Bio is the latest of several companies dedicated to advancing cardiovascular repair technologies that she has founded.

Dr. Taylor is a Fellow with the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, and the European Society of Cardiology and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering as well as a senior member of the National Academy of Inventors. She has held faculty and leadership appointments at esteemed institutions including Duke University Medical Center, University of Minnesota Medical School, Texas Heart Institute, Texas A&M University, and Rice University, as well as an honorary medical professorship in Krasnodar, Russia.

Dr. Taylor is based in Montgomery, Alabama. She earned her undergraduate degree in biology and physical science from the Mississippi University for Women; her PhD in pharmacology from UT Southwestern Medical Center; and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in immunology and molecular biology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
